Charles Veazey Rainwater

Charles Veasey Rainwater was a direct descendant of Solomon Rainwater and Ruth Felton. Born 14 March 1882 to Charles Allison and Cornelia Veasey Rainwater of Georgia, he was one of seven children.

His first job was as a clerk in the Nunnally Brothers overall factory. In January 1902, he went to work for the Coca Cola Co. as a bookeeper and was elected treasurer and secretary in 1906. After a long career with Coca Cola, he left the company in 1934. His son, Crawford Rainwater, also worked for the Coca Cola Company.

On 9 October 1906, Charles married Blanche Brown Edmonson in Anniston, Calhoun Co., AL. The couple had four sons – Charles, Lupton, Brown and Crawford.

Blanche E. Rainwater died on 12 November 1939. Charles V. Rainwater, outlived her by many years, dying in Escambia Co., Florida on 23 April 1973.
